Can't print pdf docs, asks for output file name

Whenever I try to print a pdf doc, it ask for an output file name, if I make up a name it still does not work. How do I fix this?

when you check the printing properties, is the actual printer selected or something like a pdf-writer type thing?

Thats what I was thinking.
Go to your Printers and make sure you have an actual printer selected as Default.

For example: My HP 1000 is the default and ready. (The other one is an instance I have tried to delete and cant, but its not colored in so it will never be used accidentally.)
And MS Office and ScanSoft made some document writers for me but neither one is the default, and I really dont use them anyway but they're impossible to delete while the apps are installed.
