Just built a new system Asus P4C800Deluxe with a Prescott 3.4 DO Stepping, Twin Corsair 10243200C2PT.
When I first booted up, I couldn't post because my Bios was too old to support the processor. So I installed from my other computer my working 3.2 Northwood, booted up, updated the Bios to the version that supports the newer Prescotts, installed XP, all drivers, video drivers, etc. Everything worked great. Now it gets strange. I installed the 3.4 Prescott, I cleared my CMOS, and I get no post. I didn't touch any connections, no static discharges, etc. I can't figure out the problem, it's a new CPU. So I reinstall my 3.2 Northwood, clear the CMOS again, and guess what? NO post, exactly the same as the last attempted bootup. I'm stumped, how could my original setup not boot back up? Has anyone ever had a problem like this, what do I do? Thanks
