Hi,
I have updated the bios of a old PC containg 500 MHz Pentium III(Slot) with Gigabyte GA-6BXC(Intel 440BX) motherboard. Now it doesn't POST. It turns on when I plug it to power, before I turn on the PC. I have checked RAM & it's ok. I wanted to revert back to the old bios by swaping the bios with another running computer(Athlon 900 MHz VIA Chipset) but the flash program provided by Gigabyte says the chipset doesn't match & wouldn't let me update. Somebody please tell me where can I get a bios flush program which would let me update the bios & fix the problem. Thanks in advance.
Bye
Tuhin.

You may have to replace the bios chips. The manufacturer can probably sell you the chips. You would have to remove the chips currently on the mobo and replace it with the new ones.

Thanks for your reply but I have tried all those except replacing the bios. I think when updated the bios to the latest beta version, the bios became incompatible, thats why it's not working. I have the old bios file, I want to upload it back to the bios. I tried the swap bios on a running PC technic to upload the old bios file, but the program Gigabyte supplied checks if the current Motherboards chipset & the bios which I am uploading supports the same chipset or not. Because the PC I am using to update bios contains a VIA chipset, and the bios I am updating is for a Intel 440BX chipset, the program says chipset doesn't match & wouldn't let me upload it. Now I want a bios flush program which wouldn't check the chip & let me update the bios. This way I think my problem will be fixed. Hope you understand what I mean.
