Part sent to ISP:

"Using applications that process a lot of requests sometimes kills the connection all together. This happens (with and without the router) everytime I refresh the server list for Team Fortress 2 (PC game) and everytime I visit Housingmaps.com (a craigslist and google map mashup site). Once the connection is lost, it will take 5-15 minutes to reset."

part of the response from ISP:

"The systems is designed to protect itself from ?Flooding?. If your connection performs more than 100 Windows Sessions per second the router will shut down the port for 10 minutes."

... so.. how can I limit the number of servers that are being refreshed in TF2? I havent been able to play it in 8 months... any suggestions?

and no, i cant get a new ISP until I more (4 months), its a highrise and the building is locked in.

I have this same problem from time to time. While I haven't been able to solve the actual problem, I remedied the not being able to play issue by adding a good variety of servers to my favorites, so I never even need to look through the internet tab.

Can't you just setup filters on the main server page? For example I set my filter for <50 ping, West Coast, Has People Playing, Not Empty, and I end up with only a dozen or so servers.

Unless I am completely misunderstanding the problem, which is entirely possible. :)
