I have a Liteon (can't remember the exact model #) 52x CDR burner. It reads and recognizes CDs fine, but when I put in CD purchased at a store, Winamp and Windows Media Player does not play the CD? Does anyone know what's wrong?

Try manually opening the CD from media player. Does it think its playing but no sound ? Then you forgot to hook up the audio cable..... Otherwise you may have viruses or other OS problems, and a format would be in order.

On some CD plaers you can set the driver in the control panel or whatever to Digital, and you need no audio cable. It is possible the CD is write protected and your drive cant read it.

Does the drive have a front audio jack? If so plug in headphones there and see if it plays

Ok, I just tested another CD and it works fine. The first time, I only had one CD on hand... it was the Honey Soundtrack, for some reason, it doesn't work. ???
