Can't pin documents folders to win explorer

Windows 7 64 bit here. I used to be able to drag a folder from my documents to the explorer jumplist on the taskbar and pin it there. I can't any more. I've been having some technical trouble for the last two days but its been from things I did. What could affect the ability to do this? Thanks.
