Can't open case side panel

I just bought a new Nanoxia Deep Silence 2 case from MC, and I can't open the right side panel to access the back of the mobo tray (the left side was fine). It just seems to be really stuck, and I can't get enough force/leverage to pull it.

I emailed their support, and they asked if I could just return it and get a new one. I guess I could, though I'd prefer not to take the trip.

I was thinking of asking a friend for help, but does anyone have any other suggestions?

Could I apply heat (using a hair dryer) to the top and bottom and see if it loosens? Any other crazy ideas?

Thanks 🙂

Try wedging the front seam of the side panel while pulling the side panel with something that grips well. Use a soft (plastic) wedge to prevent any damage to the paint.

Thanks. I have something that can grip on the handle, though it was starting to strip some of the paint. Perhaps I can use a cloth in between the tool and the handle?

This may be a silly question, but where can I get a plastic wedge? Would Home Depot have something?

You don't need to get a plastic wedge. Its just a method with the emphasis on using something that wouldn't mar the paint job. Any thin, hard plastic you have lying around would do just fine. Alternatively you can tape a flat head screw driver and use it as a wedge but you'll have to be more careful while prying.

That case is just like my CoolerMaster.

Try this....
Lay it on the ground with the right side panel facing up and kneel in front of the case. Take both hands and slap down on the center of the panel on the outside edges pushing back at the same time. The tabs on the panels when new can get bent or painted and can be a bear to get off.
