Hi all.

Lemme start by saying: I am a NEWBIE! The closest thing to OCing I've ever done is move the slider in the Nvidia reference drivers to OC my TNT2 Ultra.

Now, here's my problem.

I can't OC my chip! All I've tried is to up the voltage a bit, and move the FSB up a few clicks. The computer won't even post.

I have a Retail ThunderBird 850. Temp sensors indicate that with standard voltage, the chip idles at 51 degrees celsius.

I've got a single chassis fan in the front, the power supply is pulling out the back (it's an Antec 303x 300w PSU). There's the retial HSF on the chip, that's it!

Is there some sort of secret here? Am i doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance,
Scott Silverman

You need to do the trick with the L1 on your CPU...

you can check it on www.anandtech.com www.tomshardware.com

then you donot need the FSB... more the 105 and you will get unstable system.

I am OC TBIRD 750@950, 900@1050

donot get the voltage too much because you donot have a lot of cooling. buy a FOP32 or a SUPER ORB.

good luck

Your temps seem very high get better cooling. and with good memory you can run your fsb higher then 105 I can get mine stable at 112. and read up on connecting the L1s that will let you up the clock multiplier useing the jumpers on your board.
