ok so i ocd to 594mhz from 500 using coolbits and mem from 1.05ghz to 1.14. but since thats as far as it would let me go i decided to disable the internal check and try something faster.

so it disabled fine ... i tested at 601mhz and then ran a 3d app ... it stays at the stock speed ... i tried the same with 550mhz .. same deal .. wont break 501 .. HELP

check the screen shot:

first off, use rivatuner. second, are you sure you arn't overclocking the 2d speed? third, what brand of card do you have and are you on stock cooling? fourth, what are your temps (use rivatuner to find out)?

EDIT: oh yeah, it's impossible to break 595/1215 without a voltmod :D

whoops, sorry didn't see that. Your graphic card won't go above stock speed unless you run a game. Trust me. when I overclock my 6600GT to 595, it will still say it's at 525 (BFG stock speed), when I run a 3d app, then I close the app and look at the graph, it will show that the card has been at 595, but as soon as I closeed the app, it went back down to stock speed. your card is fine. you don't need to RMA it.

look

see how the speed is at 594mhz, then it drops to 525 (stock speed), then down to 299 (the 2d speed). when you are in 3d mode, but not running a 3d app, it will be running at stock 3d speed.

yeah but thats the thing .. i have dual monitors .. the other screen you cant see is a 3d visualzation (milkdrop full screen - you notice when i make it fullscreen the clock jumps from 331 to 501) ... and i also tried it with swat 4 and BOS .. same result

so my suspisions were correct. rivatuner was monitoring the clockspeed for the monitor you had it on. If you had rivatuner on the monitor you were playing games on, it most likely would have detected the change in clockspeed. Nice overclock man!
