Can't o/c my OEM GF2MX... what's going on?

Hi all, I've got an OEM GeForce2 MX400 board DVI/TV/VGA that I'd like to o/c a bit. I applied the CoolBits patch and tried to overclock using the control panel without success. I moved the Core frequency slider, checked the box to load the settings at startup, hit OK.. and when I went back in there, it had reset itself to default. The settings seemed to "test" successfully. I then tried o/cing the memory, but if I move it up even 1mhz, as soon as the test hits my machine will crash. Oddly enough, the memory slider is all the way to the left, and moves in 1mhz increments.. meaning, it starts at 1 mhz, then 2, etc. I'm using the latest drivers on XP Pro.
