Can't move my Neck

Mayfriday0529

I woke up this morning 6:30am and I could not move my neck, otherwise I would get a very sharp pain like someone poking me with a big needle.
Eventually after an hour I was able to slowly move it left and right and able to get up.

I guess that?s why they call a stiff neck? It?s pretty much on the right side and only when moving my neck or my right arm to do something on the right.

I had to take a pill of Hydrocodone to dumb the pain and drive to work.

Should I be worry or just a muscle that is messed up?

Don't worry..it's muscle pain. The normal treatment for that would be some kind of muscle relaxer so If you have any, now would be a good time to take one of those...ummm not viagra ok?

I put some cream in the area affected and took a pill of Hydrocodone/Vicodin.
it has helped some but now all drozzy at work.

If it just happens once, take 2 or 3 motrin, maybe put a little icy-hot on it and forget about it. If it happens again and again, get a better pillow and/or see a doc. Neck pain sucks.

Pulled/Sprained muscle? The muscles holding up the head work harder than most people realize. I sprained my neck playing racquetball and couldn't move my head for almost a week! Try a regular painkiller instead of Vicoden.

Of course, I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

How did you sleep? I mean, like on your face?

i move around all the time, up, down but i woke up with my body up against the pillow. i never had this happen before, this bad. sometimes you do wake up with some pain but minimal not to block you from moving your head.

i guess i just slept in a bad position.

i'll try advil but i have to wait till 1pm when its 6 hours after the vicodin pill.

Probably just muscle pain, but there is a chance it could be something very serious. If you don't start feeling better today, phone your doctor.

One of our directors had a problem like that. Turned out she was so stressed out that her body finally called it quits. She wasn't able to move her head at all. Doctor told her to take a month off work. She was fine when she came back.

Man, you have hydrocodone just lying around the house for random pains? Wow, I wish...I got hit by a car so my neck is like that every morning, the Dr wouldn't precribe me anything. I now go to acupuncture sessions that hurt like hell and make me puke...but my neck is feeling better 🙂

Damn, I have this same issue today. Woke up, and my neck hurt like crazy. I took some Alleve, but that's not doing the trick. I need to see if I have any old Percocet lying around. :Q

Vicodin is some strong stuff, you just have a bunch lying around? Be careful, once your body gets used to it, regular OTC meds like advil, tylenol dont work as well any more. Also, it can be hard to get off it, once you do, you start hurting in a lot of other places. Not speaking from experience, but a coworker of mine is in that situation. He had knee surgery, and only some strong medication works for him.

Happened to me last week and lasted 4 days, but I didn't take anything for it. Except it was my left side and not my right side.

i'm walking around work with my head to the left like i'm a cripple person.

Flexoral. take that. Vicodent will only cover the pain, muscle relaxers will help cure it by relaxing the muscle thus creating less tension. Vicodin is like a bandaid, anyways feel better.
