I guess it depends on who gets to decide what the "real" issues are then. I thought the ones I suggested were good examples. Eventually somnething is going to have to happen with health care. It is in the process of pricing itself out of the market right now. Fewer employers offer it and those that do now have a hefty sum deducted from your paycheck. It's like a hidden tax IMO.

NAFTA was unfortunatley supported by both parties. I think it was a case of what the big boys wanted, the big boys got. A true study of what the repercussions were going to be might have been worthwhile. I didn't want it and feel it was rammed down my throat. It doesn't matter now, because it's in and that's the way it's going to be now. Let some more business move out of country, I have my bases covered.
 
Yeah, sorry if I sounded too harsh as I absolutely agree with you that important issues are ignored in favor of silliness. I think the media, even ignoring the issue of bias, does a horrible job informing the public. I don't think Average Joe has any clue about most important issues, and he really doesn't get anywhere near the information he needs to make an informed decision on election day.
