Can't load webpages unless I reboot my computer...

Anyone have this problem. Since I built this new rig, and started using Windows 7 I have the oddest problem. Sometimes when I start up my computer I can connect to IM services and everything, but when I try and load a webpage it times out. I can't load any webpage, and if I go into DOS and ping myself, it times out. I reboot, and everything, including loading webpages, is fine.

Well if it fails to ping the loopback address, it's definitely something to do with the NIC or network configuration (IE - not your browser). With it being Windows 7, I'd say it is most likely either a software or hardware problem with the NIC, and not the configuration of Windows itself... but that's just me.

Yeah ping the loopback 127.0.0.1 to see if the nic is even working. Then double check your device manager.

Are you running any a/v like avira with web protections? I had to disable the web component on Avira because it would not allow any webpages to load.

do you have your web browser pointing to a proxy?
