Hey guys (or girls), does anyone know why, with my Radeon 9200SE, I can't keep stable settings with using a dual monitor setup?

I'm running two 17" CRTs. One in the regular VGA port and the other adapted to the DVI port. I only have the option of allowing the VGA port to be the main monitor, as far as checking it off goes.

However, when I get it set up like I like it (both monitors @ 1024x768), things are fine until I rebot. WHen I reboot the main monitor reduces resolution to 800x600 and the start menu is thrown to the 2nd monitor even though it is not used as the main monitor when I open apps.

What is the deal? Possible solutions?

Thanks,
Jared

You should be able to make either the primary monitor. On the settings tab of the display properties, check off "extend the windows desktop to this monitor" first, and you should now be able to check "Use this device as my Primary Monitor"

I have no idea if this will help your issue, but you should be able to try either as primary.

Thanks for the input. The box where you check for primary drive is checked, but is also grey'd out. I do not have the option of making the DVI monitor the primary monitor.. which, I find to be weird, too. Strange problems. Another guy recommended a program called "UltraMon". - http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/download.asp
