I'm having problems joining a domain I log in as domain admin on the 2k server box I go to active directory computers in users and create a user account and a computer account I then go to the 2k pro and try to join computer to domain it gives me an error message saying domain contoller can't be found I'm using a linksys befsr41 router and 3c905tx 3comm cards

Likely, the computer you are trying to join to the domain does not have the right DNS server(s) in it's TCP/IP settings.
Any computer you are trying to join to a 2k domain will use DNS to locate a DC. The DC then authenticates. Make sure you can ping a DC by name and IP.

Also, do not create the computer account in Active Directory ahead of time. It will be created automatically based on the domain credentials you are asked to give at the time of joining. Go into AD and erase the account you created.

Once you can ping the dc, do what Saltin said. Also, make sure the dns server is properly configured on the dc (if dcpromo did it automatically during setup, you should be ok).
