i built a system using an A8NSLI deluxe and a 200 gb SATA hard drive. I have gotten the system running. But sadly when i try to install windows xp home it will go to the setup and load all the files and ask if i want to install, when i click enter it says "please wait.....". The only problem is that it seems it doesnt matter how long i wait, it still wont go through with the install. Has anyone had this problem? I really need your help.

Hehe, almost exactly like me right now. A8N SLI Deluxe, 200GB SATA HD. WindowsXP Pro installation process stalled at 39 minutes left...

maybe this is a stupid question, but how do you update it? The manual say to boot in dos, how do i do that? bear with me, im a noob

when you start the setup of XP hit the F6 key to load other scsi/sata drivers
they should be on your MB drivers cd
(extract /load them onto a floppy disk Before you try to load XP)
then you should be able to load XP

Try disabling as much as you can in the BIOS. A coworker had an Abit board that wouldn't install XP until he disabled almost everything. Once he got the base OS on the hd, he then re-enabled the stuff.

Maybe you can get to the BIOS, click the "EXIT" tab, select "Load Setup Defaults", then "Exit & Save Changes"

Then try installing your OS again.
