can't install win2k

Finnaly got my computer working again.. but.. i can't install windows 2000.. that sux!!
i wanna dual boot win98se and win2kpro..
but.. when it is detecting the hardware.. it freezes everytime..
any ideas??
p3-800
supermicro 370SSA
256mb ram
voodoo 3 3500 tv

btw. i have tried taking different pieces of hardware out.. but i still get the same results.

just the onboard ata100 that will be on every board ussing the 815e chipset.. i've had no problems with that feature or chipset b4 with win2k.

Depends if your booting off the ATA100.... if you are you need to press F6 at the beginning of Win2K setup and install the ATA100 drivers.

How long do you give it to detect hardware? Oftentimes it takes a good while for it to get through everything. How long did you let it run before killing it?

overnight should be long enough.. :)
i got it to work.. i dunno what i did.. but it's working.. i'm in win2k right now actually.

really.. i had endless problems with my abit se6..
i've heard nothing but good stuff about supermicro entirely..
