Can't install Self signed Certificate for OWA

I installed CA services on my exchange server, have the site running in ssl and overall works fine. But I cannot get the security warning notice to go away. When I click on veiw the certificate, it tells me to install it in the trusted Root certification authority, as expected since it is self signed, but I click on install and it says installed ok. But when I close the browser, and browse back to my site, I still get the security notice and the site tells me I have not chosen to trust it yet...

Any areas you guys can point me into to try to troubleshoot?

What does the warning dialog say? There are three possibilities: The CA that issued the cert is not trusted, the cert is expired or the name on the cert does not match the URL.

Rebate monger, you give the best insights to my oversights... You have been a great help the last few times I have posted, if we ever meet, I owe you a beer.

But no, it does not. The certificate name is http://mail.sitename.com and the website is https://mail.sitename.com/exchange... I will change it as soon as I get a chance. to see if it fixes...

Stash too, but Rebatemonger beat you to the site name not matched...

Hmmmm....I'm not sure if I understand what your issue is then....

It's NORMAL to have a subweb of a main site be your Exchange OWA site, i.e.:
https://mail.sitename.com/exchange

As long as your certificate is named "mail.sitename.com", that should be fine. You don't/can't name a certificate with the name of subweb (/exchange). The only thing that must match is the FQDN (mail.sitename.com).

Or, as Stash mentioned, there are a couple other possibilities. But the certificate mis-naming is by far the most common problem.

BTW, you can get low-security commercial SSL certificates for $20 (or less) nowadays. You may find it worthwhile to just maintain one, and avoid having to talk users through their concerns about certificate warnings. A SINGLE help call from a user costs more than the yearly certificate fee.

oops, another one... I left off the subdomain section... It is corrected and now is working... but what are some companies that do the low cost? Any that you would recommend?
