Cant install OS on new computer

I have just setup all the BIOS settings on my new Abit KG7 + AthlonXP 1700 and put in a boot disk for win2k. It reads Disk I/O Error. I try using a Windows 98 Startup Disk and it loads. But I cannot get anywhere on it because it says I need to partition and FDisk first. I can't access command prompt so how will I FDisk?

1. Enable your system to boot off the CD. Windows 2000 should allow you to FDISK and format within the 2000 setup.

2. If this doesn't work, boot off of Win 95 or Win 98 disk and FDISK and format it. If you have a LINUX CD, you can FDISK and format with it as well.
