I can't install the latest (version 81.98) nVidia drivers for my old Geforce2 GTS 32mb. The readme.txt file states that the "NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS" is supported so I don't know what the problem is. Any suggestions are welcome.

I personally wouldn't be greatly concerned if you unable to install them.. You probably will not reap the benefits, so stick with the latest ones that work well for YOU!

Well, the readme.txt file says:

Adapters supported
------------------
NVIDIA RIVA TNT
NVIDIA RIVA TNT2
NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Pro
NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Ultra
NVIDIA Vanta
NVIDIA Vanta LT
NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64
NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64 Pro
NVIDIA Aladdin TNT2
NVIDIA GeForce 256
NVIDIA GeForce DDR
NVIDIA Quadro
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 200
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 400
NVIDIA Quadro2 MXR
NVIDIA Quadro2 EX
NVIDIA GeForce2 GTS
NVIDIA GeForce2 Pro
NVIDIA GeForce2 Ti
NVIDIA GeForce2 Ultra
NVIDIA GeForce2 Integrated GPU
NVIDIA Quadro2 Pro

I just got a 24" Dell 2405fpw so I'm trying to install the best drivers and whatever software I need to rotate the screen 90 degrees. I'm going to get a better card after Christmas, but for now, I'm using the old Geforce2.

They cut support for GF2Ultra and under since 76.* I think.

I've said this before, but I THINK that XtremeG drivers will work with your card... even the 81.*

Well, the readme.txt file says:
I think they dropped support for anything below the GF3 but forgot to update the readme.

What are the XtremeG drivers and where can I download them?
Third party drivers may include the INF to install but if nVidia removed the driver code for the older cards then installing these drivers will be unpredictable at best.

What are the latest official drivers that I can download for my card? I mean, even on their website they ask if you want Geforce or TNT drivers, so you'd think (call me crazy) that they'd have drivers for an nVidia card.

Any increases to performance or stability aren't geared toward the lower models anyway. I'm sure The last series of Detonator drivers was when they stopped focusing on GeForce 2 upgrades/updates.

I have a GeForce 2 PRO 64 mb and tried to install it on a PC with XP PRO.

It wouldnt install with the latest drivers either.

I believe I used 71.89 as "ELopes580" post shows and it worked fine.
