Can't Install Nero trial version

I'm not sure if this is fixable but I'll ask.

I have a computer which is a little over a year old. It came with Nero 12 Burning ROM trial edition preinstalled. (I rarely need to burn a CD or DVD.) I used it once and was unsatisfied. I tried again a couple of days ago but received a window telling me that my trial has expired. I rationalized that Nero Platinum might satisfy the issue that I had with the previous version. Therefore, I uninstalled (using Revo uninstaller) the original trial version and attempted to install the trial version of Nero 2016 Platinum but I still received the window telling me that my trial version had expired.

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this window so I can install the trial version of Nero 2016 Platinum. If this trial issue solves my issue, I'll purchase the program. If not, I'll look for something else.
 
You are getting this issue because the trial version of Nero 12 burning ROM is probably using the same registry key as the Nero 2016 Platinum.

You will need to check if Nero allows the users to extend their trial version period. If now I suggest you to use CDBurnerXP.
 
This is intended. You get one trial of their software and you already used it.

Honestly, theres a ton of better software out there for authoring/burning optical media and much of it is free.

Heck, Windows has had this functionality built right into Windows Explorer since Win7.

I have Windows 10 and am able to burn a data DVD using Windows functionality. However, unless I'm missing something, this doesn't work for a video DVD.

Windows DVD Maker isn't included in Win 10.

I tried to burn a video DVD ISO using Windows functionality and it burned the DVD but it wouldn't work in the DVD Player.

Oh, you're not just burning a disk. You're looking to author a DVD. That's important information you didn't share in the OP 😀

Still, there's way better programs than Nero out there to do that.

I ran CC Cleaner deleting all left over items in the registry but Nero still refused to install. It still tells me that my trial has expired.

There has to be a hidden file somewhere with a name other than Nero.

Unless I can find another answer, I'm off to explore other alternatives.
