I just bought a Dimension 3000 and forgot to order floppy disk drive which my mother want to use it. Then, I buy an internal floppy disk drive and try to install it. But problem occur! There is no bracket to support the floppy disk drive! Even I phone to hotline (Hong Kong), they said they don't have bracket sold individually and the bracket in the market is not fit to Dell. The bracket from Dell is only be sold together with the drive.

So what can I do? Leave the newly bought floppy disk drive and buy another one from Dell?

There is at least one place around the web that you can buy a floppy drive kit or the bracket separately for the Dell. Amazon.com - search on Dell Dimension Floppy Drive Kit . You can also get it direct from Dell.

. The least expensive option was given by Nohr - I've seen beige plastic brackets like that for a little as 50 cents that you could paint with Plastic Model Paint to match your case. Or you can use a USB external floppy drive. One of your local Mom&Pop computer shops could probably help you with one of those too.

Thanks Nohr and Zepper

I finally persuaded my mom to use MP3 instead of floppy disk. She can use MP3 to save/retrieve file, listen to radio and music and recording. All-in-one. Quite good! I also teach her to upload files in Yahoo and download at home. Then no more floppy is needed.

But I've to try to return the newly bought floppy to the shop.....hope they'll let me to return back.....
