I have XP Home Edition and am installing Easy CD Creator 5.0 Platinum from my *cough* "retail installation CD" (custom install, everything except for "Take Two") and after I reboot I try to run the 5.1 update (which also acts as an update to allow it to run in XP) and it gives me an error saying that "no qualifying roxio product was found." In other words, it's not detecting my EZ CD Creator installation. Any ideas? I kindof need to get this working!

When you install EZCD5 in XP, you need to install the update BEFORE you reboot the machine, otherwise it doesn't work. Don't ask me why but that's the way it is.

If I were you I would unistall it... reboot, reinstall EZCD5 and again, install the update BEFORE rebooting again. It should work after that.

If that's the manual update then what's the auto update? I have been trying to do that update that I obtained from the adaptec site.

I don`t use Easy CD,so presumed it had an auto update option,I would use Nero it really is the best choice IMHO.

The only other option is to do a clean install of XP and install Easy CD again with the update ,this might work but no guarantees.

I dont know if this will help but Roxio has other updates one for plat. and one for basic, try both. If you mean what I think you mean by "cough" this may help. I installed it without removing take two and the update removed it. G/L

It the platinum version, and I have tried installing it with and without take two. This is getting frustrating! Any other suggestions?
