I've been using Dropbox for several years now, but earlier this month it stopped launching on startup. I tried reinstalling it, but I kept getting this error
I tried many different versions, including ones from last year, this year, stable, and beta versions. All of them give me the same exact error. I tried deleting that Dropbox folder in Roaming entirely, but it just creates a new one during installation and gives the same error.
The weird thing is, I can install it and use it just fine (upload/download files) in Windows Safe Mode, but as soon as I restart into normal mode, it stops working again.
What could possibly be causing this? Is it some sort of malware? I have microsoft security essentials running, along with Avast home version, and ThreatFire. None of them displayed any alarms. I did a complete boot scan using Avast and nothing was picked up. I also ran ComboFix.
