Can't hear the music!!!! **SOLVED**

Wasn't sure if this was the right forum but we'll see...

I'm playing a game called Turok 2 on my pc, everything's fine except the music.

the music won't play automatically in the game, i have to use console commands to get it playing, and then it just goes through the tracks rather than looping the correct music for the corresponding level.

It's really bugging me because it's actually making the game a bit boring!

Can anybody help?

The music is on the game cd which is a music/data cd.

If you are using WinXP (Home or Pro) the problem stems from the SecuROM R4 protection.

I believe there was a patch to fix the problem, so a Google search may be your best bet.

I went and figured out a solution to the problem, but thanks anyway!

I guess i may as well post the solution?

In one of the readme/manuals provided on the cd there is a list of some console commands relating to cd playback. The problem was that i could get the cd playing music but only in 'user mode'. I thought if i could get the cd playing then revert to 'turok mode' ( the mode where the appropriate music is played for the level you're on ) then I'd have music! So this is what i did, in the console:

type CDOPEN followed by your cd-rom's drive letter (CDOPEN E in my case) and press enter
then type CDPLAY 1 (or any track number to get the damn disc playing) press enter
now for the magic! type SET USEPERSONALCD 0 to revert to turok mode.

eh voila! the music should change to match the level you're on (unless it was already right) and now it will loop and change automatically.

I thank you, good night!
