Can't go online with my PS3 after 1.9 Update

My connection to the PSN worked 100% fine until after I upgraded to 1.9 but now I can't connect at all. The Connection Test always fails at acquiring an IP address. I run the 20gb PS3 into a wireless Ethernet Converter (Buffalo WLI-TX4-G54HP) which then connects to my wireless router. The other devices on the converter (360, HDA1) work just fine. Like I said, everything worked perfectly fine until the 1.9 update. Everything else on the PS3 works just fine.

any recommendations? Did 1.9 change any specific network settings? I didn't see anything online about 1.9 killing internet connections.

I have mine running through a Cisco Aironet and no issue with the 1,9 update, Have you tried rerunning the AOSS or giving it a static IP?

I have that exact same setup venkman and my PS3 is still able to get online. I do not believe the 1.9 update has made any changes to the network settings.

Did you try connecting the PS3 to another port on the ethernet converter or connecting directly to your router to see if maybe the ethernet port of the PS3 has failed?

I had a similar problem with a firmware update...my USB ports stopped working (but they worked with Linux).

I'd say you should call Sony's support line and probably exchange the system for a working one.

I got it figured out. Something must have happened to the game adapter when 1.9 was downloading because the port that the ps3 was connected to does not work. I just switched it to a new port and it works fine.
