I have Verizon DSL, and last Monday, the net went out for a few hours, guy at work had same prob. But his was working that night when he got home.....and I have a wife that can't leave things alone. :frown: I don't know what she done, but we couldn't get on the net for anything. I looked in my network connections folder, and there wasn't anything there! So I had to make a new connection. So now I have internet on my computer, but now I can't get my xbox360 to come online. It worked before just fine.

I've spent 2 days messing with it. I've tried all their suggestions on website about opening ports and unplugging things. When I go to test connection, it passes IP test, but says it can't find the DNS server. The modem/router is a Westell Versalink, it shows a green light on connections for my computer and my 360. I've even been able to stream pics from computer to xbox, just can't get it to go online. What am I missing?

Thanks a ton to anyone that can help!

Check the xbox360s settings, need to make sure your set to obtain all of the information automatically

will it let you manually set the dns? set it to your routers address, this will vary depending on your networks ip class (a,b,c) for instance mine is 172.16.1.x range with my router being 172.16.0.1.

Your router should then forward the request (recursive query) to your ISPs DNS or just return the resolved address if it knows it.

I have a 360 but i'm unfamilier with the way the setup looks and what it lets you change, mine required no setup.
