I just got a Netgear router MR814 and MA521 PC card for my laptop. Before I would just plug in with cables to the network and be connected to the internet. I installed the PC card and software, connected the router to the network with the internet port. The wireless connetion is indicated, but I cannot access the internet. I tried plugging into the router with a cable (removing the wireless card) and still cannot access the internet. I tried plugging with a cable directly into the network and still no internet access. I uninstalled the PC card wireless software, plug with cable in the network, and still no internet access (which originally was the method used). I am stumped and frustrated. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Did you get an IP from your MR814? Also, did you configure the MR814 properly and verify that it is connected to your broadband provider? There is a way you can check via the router's config web pages, I don't remember the exact wording though.

Also, if you setup any mac address filtering you will need to verify that the mac address of your wireless nic is properly added to the list of allowed devices. Same goes for WEP encryption, make sure you got that all setup right.

Can you access other computers inside your network?

Thanks Cheetah...going back to start all over. During PC card setup and connection to the router, it indicated an IP address, but I dont think the router is connecting to ISP. Should I try router setup first, by connecting via cable to the router, then installing wireless PC card and software ? I am on the network, just internet access unavailable. Thanks for the help, it at least give me a start.
