Cant get win 8.1 drive to boot

When I try to boot from my win 8.1 hard drive it asks me for keyboard type(country) then gives me a few repair choices none of which work, like system restore. The ones that completely erase all the files and programs I dont want to do. Please any help appreciated

Anything strange happen before that?

How old is the computer?

Is it off the shelf or customer built?

I reset the bios to defaults and it booted, I had the boot priority messed up. Its a GA b75 board and if its set on fast boot and you make hardware changes it does not boot. thanks

I really hate win 8.1, does anyone know how to get rid of the microsoft account password when I start it up. Win 7 was easy but I am pulling my hair out!!

You mean :hmm:
Code:
netplwiz
Just run the command as an admin & disable password prompt thereafter, you should also disable the "password protection on wakeup" through power options in the control panel if you don't want to (re)login after the computer's been put to sleep.
