Can't get wheel to work on laptop...

I'm using just a plain vanilla microsoft wheel mouse and i think the synaptics software is screwing it up. I don't want to uninstall all the drivers, but when I want to play games I'd like to use a normal mouse, any help here? It's a PS/2 mouse...

Also, anyone know the best way to clean out a laptop keyboard?
 
To fully use that wheel mouse you have to go into BIOS and disable the touchpad.
 
there's probably some sort of conflict because your touchpad also is PS2. Get a USB mouse, it's really not expensive and will save you much trouble!
