Cant get Vista SP1 installed on laptop

Oyeve

Lifer
Got a Lenovo T60 preloaded with Vista Business. Upgraded to a larger HD utilizing the built in complete restore thing in vista. Restore went well. Can install most upgrades but when I go to install SP1 it asks me to agree, I agree, it does its thing for a minute, then it says update complete. Which is BS cus I have done a few vista sp1 updates and it takes way longer. A little more history on this system tho. When first set up I uninstalled all the BS bl;oatware, worked fine, I did install SP1 months ago on it (original HD) but it was giving me a lot of headaches with the wireless adapter so I uninstalled SP1. The only thing the new HD doesnt have is the restore partition. Other than that the system is working great. I just cant get SP1 installed on the damn thing. Any ideas?

Did you go through all the windows updates to get you current? I had to do that before I could install SP1 on my last ultimate install. Took a while, but installed fine.

Same here. Just turn on automatic updates and let it do it in it's own time. Mine took over a week before it decided to install SP1

Yep, auto is on which is why I see it in the list. But still no go. I am going to put the original HD in it and see if I can install SP1 on that, do another complete system backup and restore to the new larger drive (havent changed much on it so no data loss)
