when i tryed to install it i got a error and i couldnt install it.

once i double click on it. it starts to set-up for install but then it stops.

and a pop up says. an error has occur and the install has failed. plz send this error report to microsoft.

i have restarted my comp to see if i can install it after and it didnt work either. also, tried all four of my USB ports, 2 in the back and 2 in the front. all says a hi speed device is connecting to a usb 1.1 port.

i'm not sure what to do

EDIT: ok, i have a plumax external enclosure with a 120gig WD 7200rpm 8mb HDD in it and i connected it to my front USB. When i plugged it in, it says, A high speed device is connected to a USB 1.1 port. Your device will run at reduced speeds.

well.....I just been transfering files back and forth and so far the speeds are awesome.

It took less then a min to transfer ~650 files.

I am sure this is what i should expect from this external enclosure.

So. my question now.

Should i be worried that my computer says it is not a USB 2.0 port?

Or

Should i just leave it alone?

Thanks a bunch

Two ways to fix this.

Go into device manager and remove everything under USB.
Reboot and let Windows redetect.

Or go into your bios, change the usb settings to usb 1.0 instead of usb 1.0/2.0.
Boot up normally.
Install the Nvidia drivers again.
Reboot. Go into bios and change back to usb 1.0/2.0.

Well, i was wondering if i should do anything at all since it seems my external enclosure is working fine?

But i also have a new question.
I want to totally wipe out the data on the HDD in the enclosure. I remember there is a program that clears everything completely. Like better then formatting it. What was this program called?

Should i use this and when i clear everything, do i need to reinstall windows on it or can i just plug it back in again?

thx

XP Automatically detected my USB 2.0 and installed the necessary drivers. I suggest reinstalling usb drivers, but if your comfortable with the speeds now, imo, i wouldnt mess with it, but hey its your call.

Also, it should say enhanced interface when 2.0 is installed.
