i got a wintv pvr-150mce and im trying to use it on windows xp. I know its meant for windows xp mce, but its supposed to work with xp according to the website and the installation guide that came with it.

I called up haugpage and the guy said that mce does not work at all with xp, only mce. I think he doesnt know what hes talking about.......the instructions clearly state it does, as did some people on these forums a while back.

Anyone with an mce version able to get it to work on win xp?

thanks

It works fine. Do you not have a driver disc or something?

i have drivers from a cd, but thats about it. the mce version didnt come with any viewing software, so i downloaded the wintv program for the regular version from the haugpage website and used it with the mce drivers from my cd. I cant get a tv signal or the video in to work.

i also downloaded a free trial of sagetv to see if it would work, but nothing from it either.

I dunno. Mine works fine via BeyondTV (and anything else I've tried). Did you try the basic AMCap program included in their driver download? *That* should definitely work. Make sure you've got it on the right input.

I don't know if the WinTV for the regular PVR cards will work with the MCE edition.

thanks! amcap worked....didnt even know it was included.

Are there any other programs (hopefully free) that would let me watch tv, use the video in, and the fm tuner?

thanks

I haven't found anything free and particularly useful (that is, with a decent UI). I really recommend giving BeyondTV and/or SageTV a try. If the card works with AMCap, it should work with either of those programs. It might just have gotten onto the wrong settings somehow during the installation.

There's also MythTV, which is free, but it runs under Linux.
