Alright, I just got a new harddrive since my other one crapped out. I formatted the drive, installed Windows XP on it and everything is working perfectly, except I can't get any sound. I went to the device manager screen and tried to update the driver that way, and it said it worked, (the yield sign is now gone) yet I still don't get any sound. Could someone point me in the direction of the correct drivers to use, along with how to install them over the ones I chose. Thanks in advance.

Is the volume turned up? Are you plugged into the correct socket? Is the audio enabled in the bios?

First of all you need to sort out what version (not revision!) of the mainboard you have. There are two different versions regarding the sound - either with basic stereo codec, or with a 4-channel C-Media 9738.

As soon as you know that, you install the _right_ driver for it, and you're set. Wrong driver, no sound.

version? how do I find out what version I have. I bought the board Jan. 2002 and it is the one with only USB 1.0.
