Can't get SmartMedia USB adapter working under Windows 7

I have an old Olympus digital camera - like 8 years old. It's only 4.1 MP but actually still compares well to today's digital cameras, because it has a better lens than almost any point and shoot today (f1.8). It's still worth using.

Anyway, it uses the obsolete SmartMedia flash cards. I have a SmartMedia USB reader which worked fine under XP. But now that I use Windows 7, Windows can't "find" a driver for the reader. I tried downloading and installing the reader's old XP driver just for the heck of it, but that didn't work.

Is there any way I can read this card under Windows 7? I've wondered if there's some generic usb driver out there that might work, but I don't know what I'm looking for.
