Can't get simple network working.

I have 2 computers, one using XP home and one with XP pro sharing my cable connection through a hub. They can both access the internet just fine, but I can't get them to see each other on the network. When I go to "My Network Places" I can only see the computer that I am currently on. I made a game of CS on one computer and could see it with the other one but couldn't join it with the message "LAN games are restricted to local IP's (class C)".. or something like that. I have looked over the networking FAQ's here on AT and I have installed and set up all of the protocols but I can't get my computers to see each other.
Any ideas?

I just tried RTCW and for some reason, it worked and I could connect and play... but nothing else works yet :confused:

It sounds like both of your PC's either have public IP addresses (ones assigned from your ISP) or have addresses in a range that the program won't accept.

Private IP addresses will have these ranges, but these may not be acceptable to your game:
10.0.0.1 through 10.255.255.254 Class A
172.16.0.1 through 172.31.255.254 Class B

Also private IP addresses, but these should be acceptable to all your games.
192.168.0.1 through 192.168.255.254 Class C

Any other number range (except multicast and other reserved IP ranges like 127.xxx.xxx.xxx) are public addresses.

The computer that I'm on right now has 65.33.2.19... making it a public one? Would this be the cause the "seeing each other" on the network problem or just the game problem. Also, since I'm just using a hub and not a router, there isn't any way I can manually assign IP's is there?
