Can't get Samsung TV Apps Sound on Speakers Through Receiver

Hi Everyone,

I own a 2014 Samsung UN55HU8550 4K UHD TV and have tried just about every way possible to get sound from my speakers from apps like Netflix, Amazon, Pandora etc. with no success.

I am running it through a 2016 Yamaha Aventage RX-A860 and have tried the ARC connection as well and nothing. I also tried pressing the TV button on the receiver and even went as far as trying AV cables and playing it through Audio 1/2/3 etc.

I did find a receiver out setting on the Samsung TV in Sound but have tried everything to figure out a way to activate it with no success. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and consideration! =)

make sure hdmi control is turned on if your trying to use arc

or maybe an optical/digital audio connection?

and of course make sure the avr is set to the correct imput
