Cant get rid of trojan.vundo

This is Symantec's removal instructions. If that doesn't get rid of the problem, then I would research that trojan some more on Symantec's website to verify that what you have is indeed this particular trojan. I've seen some times were software utilities misidentify threats, leaving you back at square one to try & remove it.

Other possibilities, there is a second infection on the computer that is bringing in this trojan.vundo. Or maybe another computer on the network is constantly pushing it into yours?

Is it getting restored after a reboot? Disable 'system restore' first. Then run the virus scan; quarantine or delete the virus if found again. Empty recycle bin. Reboot and run virus scan again. This will probably be enough; BUT, if still there, you may need something like 'RegCleaner' to clean out a registry entry that keeps bringing it back.

OK, apparently I have the virus itself removed, but the popup informing me I have it still appears every time I turn on my comp. I think Antivirus Autoprotect, which constantly protects from threats etc is causing a problem; i thought maybe it also has something to do with the popup... the problem is that every few seconds my screen freezes and then after about one second or two it resumes normally (this is really annoying even when typing as right now I have a delay for the words to show up)... this is most noticable while playing games. Whenever I disable AutoProtect this stops, whenever it is enabled it happens... anyone know a solution other than to always have AutoProtect disabled?
