Can't get rid of red font w/ strike through it microsoft word!

Allright while trying to put an accent on a letter for her italian paper she hit something stupid and now everything comes up in red font with a strike through it and we cant figure out how to get rid of it. Searched google and found people with the same question but no answer.

any idea what the hell it is? She hit ctrl something something to activate it..

She's got track changes on

A toolbar pops up. It says "original showing markup" or "final showing markup", change it to original or final

Undo now! Select all, then Clear format?

Open a new document, copy the original text, and paste it in the new document by clicking "keep text only" or "match destination formatting."

It is called "track changes".

Solution if you cant figure it out...

1) Press CTRL-A to select all the text in the document.
2) Press CTRL-C to put it in your clipboard.
3) Open up Notepad and press CTRL-V to paste into Notepad.
4) Press CTRL-A to select all the text again.
5) Press CTRL-C to copy all the text.
6) Re-Open Word, Start a New Document, Press CTRL-V and it should all look normal.

She will have to go through and format it properly and underline/italicize any words that she had before, but it should all be normal black text again.

thanks guys ctrl shift e fixed most of it, still has some wierd lines but good enough

oh and alt+f4 is the cure all for all issues in MS word when you have an hour left to finish a multi page paper
