it appears my quicktime is corrupt and i cant view quicktime movies/ files etc. so i am trying to remove it, using the add/ remove method, when i do a message box saying: "Fatal Error during installation" appears and i cant remove it.

what can i do? it wont remove itself from my computer, and i dont want to remove it or find an alternative i'm trying to re install it.

cheers

nvm sorted it out now.

deleted it using windows cleanup utility: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/

used that to remove any quicktime related file, including itunes, worked a charm.

then deleted any quicktime related file/ folder in windows/system32.

deleted itunes and quicktime folders from C: program files

restarted computer and downloaded quicktime (not itunes + quicktime) from apple's website

installed, now it all seems to be working ok (i hope!)
