can't get rid of old OS choices at selection screen. help?

after reformatting, i have 2 copies of windows xp at the selection screen rather than just booting into windows. does anyone know how to delete the extra choices. its just a minor annoyance and adds a few seconds to boot my comp up.
 
right click on my computer, choose properties.

goto the advanced tab and choose settings for start up and recovery
