Can't Get Online With XP - Odd Error

I have XP Pro... and ever since I installed it, about 4 weeks ago...Every 5 or 6 days when I go to connect to the Internet via my Broaband connection, instead of the normal screen that would come up showing my sign on name and pass, I get "connecting to miniport Ppoe WAN" Well, when I get that..I know I am going nowhere, and can't get online at all.

What I have been doing to correct the problem is go into all network connections, choose my netgear nic and tell it to repair the conn, and then all would be fine.

Well, I guess after 4 times, it no longer will work.

I tried completly uninstalling the nic and removing my broadband accnt, and then re-install it all over again, and still I get "Connecting to mini port PPOE WAN"

Any ideas?

I do not use the netgear drivers, or my ISP's software if that helps any.
 
Well, I fixed it... but not sure what I did to fix it. I just once again uninstalled it again, and also shutdown the modem. Reinstalled it all again, and it works. Got me what I did.
