Can't get online after reformat

I have a Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 mobo, with Win 7 64 Home Pro, i5 CPU, 8 gigs RAM.
i Reformatted my machine today and all is well except i can't get online. I have a Realtek PCIe GBE family network card. It's showing me a Code 10. I installed the chipset drivers that came with the mobo disc but that didn't work. I'm wondering if another driver is needed. I found the LAN driver for this mobo and DLd but don't want to make stupid guesses. I tested the cable I had been using (I connect via ethernet through our provider). It's ok. Any ideas?

thanks

Open Device Manager. Are there any devices with a red X beside them, such as the network device? Those would need drivers installed.
