Can't get on the damn internet with my network setup

I have a MR614 Netgear 802.11b router connected to a 3Com cable modem. No computer is directly connected to the router. However, there are 3 computers in the house that connect wirelessly. The first being my Dell Laptop and 2 other desktops in the house that connect wirelessly via the Netgear MA111 802.11b USB adapter.

My laptop and the first desktop connects fine. I cannot get the 2nd desktop to get on the internet though! I've installed the Configuration software properly. Everything checks out! The Wireless Networking box in the System Tray says that it's connected. Signal level is Good. I made sure to put in the WEP Encryption password to my network. The MA111 USB Adapter itself has a solid green light (not a blinking green light - indicating that it's working normally). But for the love of God, Internet Explorer just won't load any webpages. It's driving me nuts!!

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be? Thanks

Are you sure you are getting an IP address? Type ipconfig /all in a DOS prompt window. It should be 192.168.x.x or something of that nature. If it is 169.254.x.x then you have not been assigned an IP from the router. Try disabling WEP and see if the device connects. Sometimes WEP between different wireless devices can be a problem. I use a Linksys WRT54G and just use MAC address filtering and disable the SSID broadcast to secure my wireless, as I have had problems with WEP not working on all devices.

Just thought I'd bump this up as I am having the exact same problem as the OP. I am not getting an IP from the router, and I don't have WEP enabled on the router. The only thing that looks at all funny is that the MAC address of the router is slightly different than the one my computer is picking up (last two 'digits' are BC on router, but my comp sees it as BB). TIA for the help.

So your address is in the 169.254.x.x range? Is DHCP enabled? Have you tried setting a static IP?

As far as the MAC address goes, with my network setup (using Motorola cable modem and Belkin router) I enter my cable modems MAC address in the routers setup and clone it.
