Cant get new MB and processor to turn on

Ok.. I will try to make this as simple as possible however it can get a little confusing. I have computer #1 and computer #2. #1 is a Athlon 900mhz on a Asus A7v MB #2 is a K62-450 on a Gigabyte MB (not relevant). I got a new Athlon XP 1600 and a MSI K7T266 Pro2-RU to replace computer #1 and was going to move the Athlon 900mhz to replace computer #2. However when initally setting up the XP1600 I ran into some problems with it booting (later to be determined that the power supply was too small) but while troubleshooting I put the Asus and 900mhz athlon back in the box and tried to turn it on without screwing the MB down (I know dumb a**) well, I fried the chip. So I decided to just buy a Athlon 1.4Ghz 266FSB and a refurbished MSI K7T Turbo to go into computer #2. I finally got the chip today, installed it on the MB and hooked only 1 HD, video card, memory, keyboard & mouse up and tried to turn it on and nothing happens. I know that the power supply is good because it is the new one that I bought for the XP1600 (I switched the PS becuase I had a 300W and a 400W - this machine that I can not get working will need the 400W because I have like 6 HD in it) Do you think it is a bad MB? I could take apart the XP1600 machine and try the MB and chip in there but I really dont want to do that. Any suggestions? Thanks!

locate the clear cmos jumper make sure its on the right combination of pins.... i had a refurbished MB and someone left the jumper on CLEAR and it took me ages to find out what it was lol

if its not that then post again and i / we will try to help

Not it that was one of the first things that I found. I am getting ready to go back to the shop and have them test the MB to make sure it is good.
