Back when I was on cable I had no problem with my home network. I was sharing a printer with my wife and I could access her PC and vice versa.
Now we moved and all their is for "high speed" is satellite.
I set up the network here.
I couldn't even see the other machines till I mapped them.
Then, I could see the machines but if I tried to connect I'd get an error.
Now, I can't even access the workgroup.
On a side note, I frequently have to open a cmd line and release and renew my IP to connect to the internet. If I log into the router, it won't renew for me. I have to do it through the cmd line. Sometimes the only way I can connect is to unplug the modem and router for 5 minutes and let them re-set.
XP Pro on all three machines, 1 desktop, 2 laptops.
Wildblue satellite modem to SMC Barricade wireless router via the WAN port.
Port #1 to my PC.
Both laptops off the wireless.
No security enabled on the router.
Wireless Network setup run on all machines.
Office Network Wizard run on all machines.
All PCs are on the same workgroup.
All drives and folders, shared with no security.
Windows Firewall turned off.
AVG AV on all 3 machines.
