cant get my valve stem covers off

tried to check my tire pressure today and couldnt get my valve stem covers off.

1 year old valve stem covers on 1 year old tires...

tried spraying with wd-40 to cut down any rust that might have built up
tried heating the cover with a lighter to get the metal to expand.
tried using 2 sets of pliers (1 on cover, 1 on stem)


any idea how i can check my tire pressure without feeling like i'm going to rip the stem out of the tire....
 
Rubber or metal valve stems? You can always just swing by a tire shop and have them do it real quick.
