Can't get my Telocity DSL to connect to home network !!!!!

Ok .... I am going crazy here. Here is the network topology.
I have a Telocity X2 DSL router connected to the DSL line.
This is connected via Ethernet to a 8-port hub. This in turn is configured in a a star
network to selct rooms in the house.
Room #1 is my den is that has a hub and is connected to my computer. It connects to DSL
fine. Room #2 is my wife's office and it is connected straight into her NIC (no hub). This
computer file shares with my Den computer fine. This means the physical link is ok.
No matter what I do, I cannot get my wife's computer to connect to the Internet. I cannot
even ping the router. I removed Dial-up networking, went through the Internet Wizard,
turned off my computer to ensure there was only one on the network ... nothing !
Telocity will not help, saying that they do not support this.
Any ideas ??? I need to get her on the Internet ... other than Dial-up.

Computer #1
Windows ME
3Com 100 Mbps NIC
5 Port Linksys hub
Athlon 800

Computer #2
Windows 98 SE
Linksys 100 Mbps NIC
Celeron 500

I have a hub to connect things like my Laptop, etc. I have multiple Ethernet connections in my den.
When you have a home network ... you might as well exploit it !!!! Now I just have to get it to work fully.

Never know when you need an Ethernet port .... ;->

Not an expert but here's my attempt.

Sounds like you need to turn on ics on computer1. This would make computer1 act as a server and computer2 as a client for internet. There are also may other software tools that will do the same thing but since win me and 98 have it built in why not use it.

This is a good article that gives alternatives to ICS. Also Dalantech has a good explanation on NAT (network address translation).

Enjoy.
