Can't get my Super Micro AMR modem to work under Win2k :-(

I have a Super Micro AMR card which I can't get to work under Win2k...

It installs perfectly fine with the NT drivers (there are no win2k drvs) and jumps onto com3 and doesn't complain one single bit...
It shows up as fully working under system properties etc. It's on IRQ 11.

But the computer doesn't seem to wana comunicate with it att all 🙁

Any thoughts... I highly doubt it being the NT drivers, Win2k even said they have been tested on windows yada yada certificated you know what I mean...

🙁

Yeah I've already tried those and I got a BSOD directly after those drivers had been initialized 🙁

Might have done it wrong though?

I just updated the drivers for the already "perfectly" working modem in the sys props.

That AMR modem has a SmartLink chipset right? Here are the most current drivers for Win2k:

File Name: HAMR56-V2.84.01-MO-Win2K.zip
Driver Version: 2.84.01
Driver Date: 14-Feb-01
Driver Size: 1.9

Those 2.6 drivers are over a year older I think. You might remove the modem from the device manager, then reinstall it with the latest drivers.

This site has a little more info about the SmartLink AMR modem:

Thanks man, there's lots of info there 🙂

I got the Win2k driver from Super Micros ftp to "work" now (as in not BSODing me on initializing 😛 )... I uninstalled the old driver in fale safe mode and then booted up and installed the card with the Win2k driver, that gave some improvement... now windows only sais that the Port is already opened even though I've tried com 2, 3 and 4 and rebooted the comp after every change 🙁

With the NT driver it just said that it couldn't find the modem at all.

Still in need of help here... 😕
