i have intel bad axe 2 mb

under boot device priority cd/dvd rom is first

but then a little under where it says that it says cd/dvd rom drive order and it says theres no optical drive present

its a sata burner...do i need to hook up ide to boot to windows disk?

Just buy a SATA to PATA adapter... chortle!

Seriousry though, just a guess but if not plugged into one of the Intel storage controller's ports then try those (as opposed to an auxilliary's). Otherwise vice versi (as Bugs Bunny would say).

Hum. I've heard of problems about this. Ironically you need to install windows, then run the SATA driver off the motherboard disc... but you can't because your drive isn't working 😕. Borrow an IDE drive from somewhere, they're floating about all over the place. Nick one from a PC in work for a day or something.
